Entertainment and sporting celebrities are supporting a charity set up in memory of a popular teenager.

Danica's Dream Fund was established in memory of 15-year-old Danica Maxwell, from Egremont, who died following three brain tumours in 2010.

Dozens of celebrities have previously been pictured wearing the charity's wristbands.

The craze has shown no signs of abating however, with television, music and sporting stars all keen to back the cause.

The latest to be photographed are iconic tv host, Jerry Springer; comedian, Dave Spikey; actress, Sally Philips; singer Sheila Ferguson and director Ken Loach.

As well as rugby's Danny Houghton (Super League's 2016 Man of Steel) and Marc Sneyd, of Hull FC; legendary footballer, Ozzie Ardiles, and 'Tubes' from Soccer AM.

Fundraiser Mark Andrews said: "When they agree I get an address from them to send it to.

"[The celebrities] either post a picture on Twitter or send them to me via email and we post them on social media to promote the charity.''

Since it was established, Danica's Dream Fund has raised more than £150,000 to give financial assistance to very seriously ill children and teenagers.

The charity's latest fundraising initiative sees it holding its annual Easter bingo this Sunday at Egremont's Falcon Club, from 3pm.

It will also include a tombola, raffle and cake stall.

Tickets are available on the door or from John by emailing jmaxwell123@btinternet.com or contacting him via Facebook. Cost is £1 which includes a raffle ticket.

Wristbands are also available from John.
