A traditional nativity will be held in Cleator Moor as a Beavers group celebrates Christmas.
The 3rd Cleator Moor Beavers are joining with Cleator Moor Brass Band and Arlecdon School Choir to put on a show at the town's Methodist Church on Thursday, December 8.
During the Nativity, the congregation will be asked to exit the church to view Mary riding on a donkey on her way to Bethlehem.
"This will be a fantastic evening of a traditional play accompanied by the brass band playing and a choir singing," said Beavers leader Stuart Jaynes. "There will also be a solo performance of Silent Night by Alana Vine.
"The idea behind this Nativity was from myself as a personal challenge. I wanted to see a Nativity like they were many years ago. No one taking part or helping is receiving any financial reward, it is all done voluntary. This shows a true Christmas spirit."
"All the parts are being played by the Beavers aged six to eight and their siblings aged three to five. A great deal of hard work has gone into this production and there have also been generous donations of costumes from local retailers."
Refreshments, including mince pies and alcohol-free mulled wine, will be provided after the show.
Any money raised will be donated to the Cleator Moor Howgill centre as the Beavers want to help other children have a special Christmas.
