THE community is invited to a variety of activities at Ennerdale Bridge this Bank Holiday weekend.

Numerous events are set to be hosted by the Fox and Hounds pub in the village.

A family fun day is being held there on Saturday from 1pm until 5pm.

It will feature a barbecue, duck races, tug of war, treasure hunt and other activities.

The pub will be open on Sunday as usual.

And on Bank Holiday Monday, an afternoon of live music with singer and guitarist Frank Clarke is set to take place. He will be performing two 45 minutes sets at 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

The Fox and Hounds pub is run and owned by the community.

Nina Ludgate, one of the 215 community shareholders, said: "We welcome everyone; from visitors and people from the local area. We want to get the message out that we're here. The pub is family friendly, dog friendly and we've got a lovely beer garden by the beck."

She said the Gather Cafe, which is also under the the community owned project, will also be open over the weekend (Saturday 9am - 5pm, and Sun and Mon 10am - 4pm).
