A man will stand trial accused of stealing a number of items from a vehicle in west Cumbria.

David Andrew Passon, 39, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today, where he denied one charge of theft.

He allegedly stole CDs, a wallet with bank cards and a holdall containing sports equipment.

The theft took place in the Bransty area of Whitehaven between November 30 and December 3 last year.

He will stand trial at the crown court in the week of May 8.

In the meantime Passon, of Countess Road, Whitehaven, was remanded in custody.
