TALENTED musicians will be playing at an acoustic event in Keekle tonight.

Avalon are the headline act. Members perform a wide range of acoustic covers of bands and artists such as Oasis, the Cure, Stereophonics, David Gray and Paolo Nutini.

Supporting them will be teenage acoustic duo Darcey Mai Stables and Jack Kewley, who are both 15 years old.

It takes place at Keekle Village Hall. Doors open at 7pm.

There is a wealth of experience between the acts.

Avalon’s band members are Alan Lowrey on bass, Alan Kewley on drums, Sam Lynch on guitar, John Thompson and Martin Kelly, singer.

John has been involved in bands including Voyeur, Tribute, Weathered Rock as well as duos Signature and Double J. He produced a stage version of The War Of The Worlds twice.

Alan played bass in the band It Bites. He has also performed in bands Sugarstone, Sour Mash, one half of acoustic duo AlGarythm, and the Solway Delta Blues Band.

Martin Kelly is part of the Committed To Rock choir and blues band Crow Dog.

Both Martin and Alan have also been involved in The War of the World productions.

Drummer Alan Kewley has played the local club and pub circuit since he was a teenager. He says he has performed with “some fantastic local musicians and singers”.

And Sam has played guitar for about 13 years. His influences include The Jam, Guns n Roses, and Johnny Cash.

Teenage duo Darcey and Jack will also be performing.

Darcey has years of experience dancing at Cowper School of Dance. She recently left the dance school to pursue her singing hobby.

“I thoroughly enjoy singing and hope to gain more experience and gain more confidence and knowledge,” says Darcey.

She will be performing with Jack who has played the guitar for nearly seven years.

He said: “I enjoy playing music because it’s good fun and I can use music as a way to help people through charity shows.”

People are invited to take their own tipple to tonight’s event. Tickets are £5 on the door.
