CLEATOR Moor Rainbows and Brownies topped off a term of learning about the Queen with a royal celebration.

Following Her Majesty’s big day this month, the youngsters have taken part in activities related to the Queen’s life including learning to dance the Charleston and learning about the Queen as a Guide and her sister as a Brownie.

The group have also tried things the Queen would have done during her time as a Guide, learned about the her corgis and dorgis, as well as designing and making a ball gowns and tiaras from paper, carrier bags and bins.

The youngsters have learned how to curtsy, lay a formal table, wave and walk like a Queen, as well as hosting a Commonwealth themed evening.

To top all their learning and fun off, the youngsters held a party to celebrate her 90th birthday, making their own bunting, decorations and mini teacups with saucers.

They played Royal Bingo, pin the tail on the corgi, feed the corgi, pass the crown, musical thrones.

They have one further evening exploring the Queen’s life, where they will design or build castles and learn about the staff in a royal residence.

There were celebrations around Cleator Moor for Her Majesty's big day, with Arlecdon school dedicating its summer fayre last week to the Queen with a royal theme.
