BRITAIN’S Got Talent star Andrew Johnston will be making a guest appearance at this Saturday’s Christmas Fair in Whitehaven.
The event will take place in the grounds of St Nicholas’ Church between 10am and 3.30pm.
The young star from Carlisle has gone from strength to strength since he came third in the nation’s favourite talent contest on ITV. He has since released a Top Ten album, and has been invited to perform at the Albert Hall.
Andrew will be signing albums and photographs from 1pm. He will then give a guest appearance at WHSmith from about 1.30pm for about 30 minutes before going back to St Nicholas’ Church about 2pm.
He will then board an open-top bus, provided free by Stagecoach, with Copeland Mayor Keith Hitchen to journey through the town to pick up ‘the real’ Father Christmas and they will go back to the church around 2.30pm where children will be given treats.
Musicians from the Now That’s What I Call Whitehaven 2008 CD to raise money for West Cumberland Hospital’s Children’s Ward, Rosehill’s Rat Pack and the Rosehill Lollipops will provide music throughout the day, and Whitehaven Brass Band and St Benedict’s School musicians will also be performing, there will be a variety of Made in Cumbria craft and food stalls at the event, organised by the Parish of Whitehaven and the Whitehaven Festival Committee.
