CHRISTMAS has certainly arrived early for all music fans this year.
This autumn and winter features some of the most popular and highly-anticipated albums being released to the eagerly awaiting public.
From indie and rock, to the alternative R&B and hip-hop, there is defiantly something for everyone this festive period.
The Killers’ new album, Day and Age hit the shelves on November 24, and includes the band’s sixth Top 10 hit single, Human. This album is a perfect gift for anyone who is going on the band’s newly announced tour next year.
Following in the same genre, we have Oasis and their newest album Dig Out Your Soul . It hit the high street early October, and it will not leave fans disappointed. It steers away from the band’s previous anthemic style and more towards a true rock and roll sound.
Other indie and rock albums that will be vying for music fans’ attention include the latest from artists such as Nickleback, Fall Out Boy and Guns ‘n’ Roses, all with a November/December release dates, just in time to compete for the much sought after Christmas number one spot.
For music lovers with a more of an upbeat taste, there is some fantastic pop-rock albums coming your way.
Funhouse, the latest album from Pink includes the three-week chart topper, So What.
This latest album lives up to the other four successful ones she has released. With likeable songs such as Sober and title track Funhouse it’s an album worth investing in.
Another for the pop lovers, or more cheesy music listeners, is the soundtrack album for the extremely popular High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
This toe-tapping album is a sure winner for fans of the film, which allows them to dance and sing about as their favourite characters. A brilliant stocking filler for a young relative.
The new girl band on the block, The Saturdays, released their debut album Chasing Lights. If you like pure electric pop then this is the CD for you, it’s fun and lively with a unique edge.
Now if you’re a R&B fan, you’re in for a treat this year with the ever popular Beyonce releasing her third solo album. Or if that is not to your taste then maybe 808’s & Heartbreaks from hip-hop artist Kayne West will be more up your street.
And here’s a CD that’s guaranteed to get the whole family rocking around the Christmas tree, Now That’s What I Call X-mas. With all the festive favourites such as I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day and Merry Xmas Everybody, this three-disc CD is jam-packed and a must have for those office parties.
