POLICE found a stash of temazepam tablets, in a Parton man’s home, Whitehaven magistrates heard.

Andrew Wells Cowler, 27, of Sea View, admitted possessing the drug and was fined £65, with £60 costs and £15 surcharge.

Jane Mackrill, prosecutor, said Cowler had been stopped by police who found he had had four our prescribed temazepam. But they then searched his house and found a strip of unprescribed temazepam tablets.

Val Hendren, for Cowler, said her client’s doctor had prescribed temazepam, but Cowler felt the dosage too weak and had bought more tablets to increase it.
