Stunning flower festival at Moresby

AN opportunity to see stunning floral displays in an historic setting presents itself this weekend with the Myths and Legends Flower Festival taking place at Moresby Hall, Saturday and Sunday, August 30/31.
The event is being staged by members of the Whitehaven Flower Club and will raise funds for the NSPCC. with proceeds being donated to the charity’s Wedgewood Centre in Whitehaven.
Designers of the festival, which will take two days to create, are Pat Crichton, Vivien Postlethwaite and Chelsea medal winner Alison Lowe. The floral abundance will be over two floors, including one of the stunning four-poster bedrooms which for this weekend will see Sleeping Beauty in repose. Other myths and legends portrayed in floral style include everything from Neptune to Harry Potter, Winston Churchill to Nessie and Mrs Beaton to John Paul Jones!
There will be a raffle, tombola, cake stall and refreshments throughout the day. Open 10.30am–4.30pm. Tickets: £3 adults / £2 children.
