LOVE was certainly in the air at a music festival when there was a surprise proposal for a Whitehaven woman.
Rachel Holliday, of Hensingham, was proposed to by her partner Brett Crane at the weekend’s B-Festival, held at the Bower House, Eskdale.
The couple were camping at the event and on Saturday morning – Rachel's 29th birthday – Brett, 32, a Sellafield police officer, said he had a little surprise for her.
“He read me a four-page letter in the tent and then pulled out a ring and proposed to me,” said Rachel, a charity project worker.
And the good news is – she said yes!
“I was amazed and cried most of the morning,” she said.
Rachel has a son, Dylan, and Brett has a daughter called Ella. They have been together for just over 12 months.
Both rock fans, they then enjoyed the rest of the music festival and plan to get married next year.
Rachel added: “I am blessed to have Brett in my life, he is a wonderful father to his daughter and now to my son.
“He is a supportive loving partner who is also my very best friend.”
