Fun and fancy dress reigns supreme at village fete

RAIN spoiled some of the fun at Saturday’s St Bees fete and fancy dress parade through the village.
The fancy dress results were as follows; Pre-School; 1, Isabel Moules Cat; 2, Finley Neale as Indiana Jones.
Reception: Joint 1, Adeena Postlethwaite as Hansel & Gretal and Ben Mahaffy; 3, Tom Walton as Postman Pat.
Year 1: 1, Charlie Cartmel as Smurfit; 2,Chris Rhodes as beekeeper; 3, Max Thorn as Indiana Jones.
Year 2: 1, Jenny Telfer as Alien; joint 2, Thomas Harris as Star Wars and Harry Ollis.
Year 3: 1, Ben Rowlands as Flower Pot men; 2, Jasmine Moules as cheerleader and 3, Ben Meagan as a viking.
Year 4: 1, Natalie Brennan as bag of rubbish; 2, Michaela Yipp as an indian squaw; 3, Neil Taylor as an alien.
Year 5: 1, Emma Shackley; 2, Libby Allen as credit crunch and 3, Ellie Haggart as Dr Who.
Year 6: 1, Katie Taylor Hamilton as Sheilas Wheels; 2, Paul Woodman ; 3, Ellen Haslam as Gabriella.
Walking groups:
Joint first, Chocolate Brownies (Brownies) ; 2, Beijing Bling (cubs and beavers) and 3, Wizard of Oz .
Floats: 1, Pirates (pre-school); 2, Aliens and Space (Rottington & Sandwith).
