WEST Cumbrian firm, Nukem Ltd teamed up with Cumbrian engineers, Beaverway, to donate more than £300 to the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The helicopter, Pride of Cumbria, has been in service since 2004. Now it’s been given a boost by Nukem after a number of redundant materials were recycled with the help of Beaverway.
Together the two companies agreed that the proceeds could not be better spent than on one of the region’s most valuable services.
The cheque was presented to Jan Hawkins, chair of the Friends of the Pride of Cumbria by Nukem’s site manager in Westlakes, John Wilson, and Craig Walsh of Beaverway.
Over the past 12 months The Pride of Cumbria has been called out to more than 100 incidents on the West Coast Road stretching between Maryport and Seascale.
