Scouts take charge

THE 1st Hensingham Scout Group donned their aprons and dusted off their baking trays to take charge of St Nicholas Tower Café.
Scouts, Cubs and Beavers all helped out and their enthusiasm helped make the day one of the most lively the café has seen for some time!
The Group is grateful to everyone who contributed to a great day and helped raise almost £1000 which will go towards a much-needed store building.
Meanwhile 1st Mirehouse Scout Group is desperate for a new hut. The first section of the existing hut was built in 1954 by the Scouts themselves and although it has served them well for 54 years, it is now ready for renewal. To help raise funds for the new build the group will be holding monthly tabletop sales.
Anyone wishing to rent a table (£5 each) should contact Emma on 01946 696886. The first sale will be on Sunday, May 11, 10am until 2pm.
