This now secures NES as the main club sponsor through to 2015.

Town chairman Dave Bowden was delighted with the news. He said: “This is a significant sponsorship deal and the stability of a longer term arrangement enables us to plan ahead.”

Bowden paid tribute to Marnie Jackson, Workington Town’s Community Marketing Manager, and her team, who he believes have been instrumental in securing a further deal.

“We were able to demonstrate we could reflect the desire of NES to make positive differences to our local community.”

The new deal builds on the excellent relationship that has been established between the club and NES while providing additional funding which the club will channel directly into community development activities.

Lifelong Town fan and NES director, George Andrews, said: “All of us at NES are delighted to be able to continue with our support of Town through to 2015.

“Having come so close to promotion to the Championship last season we are keen to help Towns promotion push in the 2012 season.

“Being a local lad I am privileged to work for a company that recognises the need to support and encourage the West Cumbrian community.

“Rugby League is in our blood and a thriving professional club that creates opportunities for West Cumbrian youngsters to learn about sport and develop their skills can become a cornerstone of our community.”

“NES already do extensive work with schools local to our base in the West Midlands and we are delighted to be able to extend this support to schools in West Cumbria through our sponsorship of Town. I look forward to working with everyone at the club to create the success that the Town deserves.”
