New life for former West Cumbrian nightclub

A former Workington nightclub could be turned into flats.
Fusion, on Ladies Walk, has been empty since the club closed in 2010.
It was recently sold at auction and although it has not been revealed who the new owner is, plans have been lodged with Allerdale council for the scheme.
Edwin Thompson, a firm of chartered surveyors and estate agents, has submitted the plans to the authority on the new owner’s behalf.
It wants permission for eight two-bedroom flats and two one-bedroom flats.
There would be parking for 10 cars and four bicycles.
The planning documents state there are two areas at the site suitable for planting.
Built in 1993, the nightclub changed hands a few times before it shut for good two years ago.
Its last owners were Anthony and Francesca Ononye.
Christopher Reeve, of Edwin Thompson, said he understood the new owner wanted to start converting the building as soon as possible.
