Luxury apartments completed in West Cumbrian village

Work to turn the former police headquarters at Brigham into 10 luxury apartments and two houses has been completed this week.
The controversial development was delayed for four months because of issues with installing gas and water.
But the completed two-bedroom apartments and homes are now on the market with Penrith Farmers’ and Kidd’s in Cockermouth.
The apartments are up for sale for between £125,000 and £135,000 and the houses are £130,000 each.
Mobi Developments Limited was granted planning permission last year.
Villagers and the parish council objected to the proposals because, they said, the 1960s-built office block was an eyesore.
Mohammed Ajaib, owner of Mobi Developments Limited, based in Newcastle, said there had already been a lot of interest in the site.

I don't know how these passed planning regs, they stick out like a sore thumb and can be viewed from the top roundabout in Cockermouth. They are really not inkeeping with the village.

Having witnessed this project on an almost daily basis from start to finish I would have to agree with both Pippin and anon. They've been somewhat conservative in their opinion. Quality is not a word that could be associated with this development and I'd suggest they'll be empty for a long time.
