The wedding of Louise Richardson and Gavin Goodfellow

HOW THEY MET: Through friends in 1998.

PROPOSAL: On Christmas Day 2000.

VENUE: The Grecian Sands Hotel, Nissi Bay, Cyprus.

THEME: Ivory, purple and diamante.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An Ian Stuart Havana € silk ivory strapless gown with diamante and flower detail and detachable train with matching hair piece, from Marrime, Kendal.

GROOMSMEN: The groom’s best friends Duncan Naven and Kevin Jackson were best men. Ushers were the groom’s brother Grant Goodfellow, the bride’s brother Steven Richardson, the groom’s cousin Paul Borrowdale and the groom’s friends Christian Neen and Nicholas Hail.

They wore ivory and purple waistcoats, white shirts, purple cravat and grey pinstripe trousers from Burtons.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s best friend Lorraine Jacques was chief bridesmaid and Angela Jacques and Joanne Bamford were bridesmaids.

They wore silk purple strapless dresses from Coast with matching bags, diamante shoes and hair pins.

The bride and groom’s daughter Lexie Goodfellow, the bride and groom’s nieces Marcie Goodfellow and Liala Goodfellow, the bride and groom’s god daughter Megan Jackson, the bride’s god daughter Chloe Spratt and bride’s best friend’s daughter Grace Jackson were flower girls and wore ivory diamante dresses from BHS.

FLOWERS: The bride carried a bouquet of dried ivory roses with diamante detail by Rosebudz, Whitehaven.

RECEPTION: A cocktail reception for 40 guests at the Grecian Sands Hotel, Cyprus followed by a three course barbecue on the roof top terrace.

On the bride and groom’s return home they held a reception at Hunday Manor Hotel, Workington for 200 guests with Hartleys Icecream van and a Pick a Mix Sweet stand.

TABLE SETTINGS: Purple table runners and bows and scattered diamantes and butterflies at the Grecian Sands Hotel, Cyprus.

At the Hunday Manor glass fish bowls holding water with decorative stones and floating gerbera heads and LCD lights and candle holders containing gerbera heads on purple table runners, flowers supplied by Rosebudz, Whitehaven.

FAVOURS: In Cyprus silk ivory fans for the ladies, scratch cards for the men and goody bags for the children and at Hunday Manor silver pyramids containing chocolates.

CAKE: A two-tier cake provided by the Grecian Sands Hotel in Cyprus and an ivory rose petal, three-tier cake of chocolate, sponge and fruit cake from Marks & Spencer at the Hunday Manor reception.

FIRST DANCE: This Year’s Love, David Gray.

ENTERTAINMENT: A local disco at the wedding reception in Cyprus and Seventh Wave band and disco at the Hunday Manor reception.

HONEYMOON: Cyprus.
