Fantastic festivities in town

SIR – My family and I would like to thank everyone concerned in organising the wonderful event in Egremont on Sunday, December 2.
We thoroughly enjoyed it and were thrilled with the turn out. The street was buzzing with atmosphere and we all felt a sense of community which is something we have felt was missing in recent years. We have supported the fund raisers for the lights and were over the moon with it all; the fireworks were AMAZING!!!
Even with the slight glitch when the lights didn’t turn on immediately, it was still a fantastic afternoon for all the family. The Christmas trees top and bottom of the street look beautiful and the overall effect of the lights look great. At last we are looking good. The organisers and committee members should be extremely proud of themselves.
I thought I would write as there are always plenty of people to put Egremont down it would make a change for a bit of positivity.
The THOMPSON FAMILY,
Egremont
