PROPOSAL: On a surprise weekend in Paris in May 2007.
VENUE: Our Lady and St Michael’s Church, Workington.
THEME: Black, white and crystals.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory satin corset style bodice with lace floral detail with a full tulle skirt scattered with sequins from Champagne Brides, Workington.
GROOMSMEN: The groom’s friends Kevin Law and Lee Park were best men. Ushers were friend Gareth Evans and the bride’s brother Simon McAleavey.
They wore black Prince Edward suits with white waistcoats with silver detail from Dresses and Dreams, Workington.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s friends Kelly Adams and Rachel Graham were chief bridesmaid. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friend Andrea Ford, the groom’s niece Naomi Doran and the groom’s cousin Megan Starkie.
They wore black satin full length Alvina Valenta dresses from Dresses and Dreams, Workington.
Bekkie and Bethanie Rothery and Libby and Katie Matear were flower girls and wore dresses from Debenhams.
FLOWERS: The bride carried a hand tied bouquet of ivory roses with bear grass, scattered with diamante and black detail, from Vandella Flowers, Carlisle.
TRANSPORT: A 1930’s style silver convertible Beauford from Willows Wedding Cars, Wigton, a black Daimler Landaulette and ivory Rolls Royce from A Touch of Class, Workington and coaches for guests supplied by Messengers Coaches, Mealsgate.
RECEPTION: Hundith Hill Hotel, Cockermouth for 106 guests during the day and an extra 60 guests in the evening.
TABLE SETTINGS: Black lily vases with white oriental lilies with bear grass and diamante detail from Vandella Flowers, Carlisle. Tables were scattered with crystals.
FAVOURS: Pic ‘n’ mix sweets in black and white stripy bags and ‘Lucky in Love’ scratch cards.
CAKE: A three-tier cake of sponge and fruit surrounded by seven miniature cakes, all set on mirrors decorated with calla lilies and trimmed in diamantes, by Jackie’s Cakes of Dearham.
FIRST DANCE: With You, Chris Brown.
ENTERTAINMENT: Swing band Swingthing from Maryport and Steve Mitchell DJ, from Southport.
HONEYMOON: Mexico.
