HOW THEY MET: Met in December 2004 at Concrete in Carlisle but didn’t speak again until February 2005 as Laura’s university residence had flooded.

PROPOSAL: Valentine’s Day 2009 on holiday at Center Parcs. Christopher had bought a card with ‘fiance’ on and he got down on one knee with a ring. It was a double celebration as when they got home Laura had her 12 week scan.

VENUE: St Bede’s Church, Carlisle.

THEME: Blue and ivory.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A pale ivory Tia gown by Benjamin Roberts with pleated sweetheart neckline, lightly decorated with flower shaped beading, from Carol Roberts Couture Bridal, Carlisle.

GROOMSMEN: The groom’s brother Paul Donnell was best man and the groom’s friend Benjamin Irving was usher. They wore black Prince Edward suits with blue waistcoats and ties from Greenwoods.

Leo Van Belzen was pageboy and wore a matching suit from BHS.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s friends Rachel Barber and Joanne Hall were bridesmaids and wore blue strapless dresses from BHS.

Joanne’s daughter Sophie Ryan and a friend’s daughter Heidi McMillan were flower girls and wore ivory dresses with blue sash from BHS.

FLOWERS: The bride carried a bouquet of blue hydrangeas, white freesias and white roses and the bridesmaids had matching hand-tied bouquets, all flowers from Vandella Flowers, Carlisle.

TRANSPORT: A blue Rolls Royce from Executive Cars, Carlisle.

RECEPTION: Greenhill Hotel, near Wigton for a canapes, Kir Royale and sparkling rose wine and wedding breakfast for 60 guests and evening reception and buffet for 100 guests.

TABLE SETTINGS: Chair covers, tealights and diamantes from Finishing Touches and flowers from Vandella Flowers.

FAVOURS: Hand-made favour boxes filled with chocolate hearts for the women and scratchcards for the men.

CAKE: A three-tier round cake made by Christopher’s great aunt Cathleen Watson and decorated by relative Lorraine Clark.

FIRST DANCE: Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Elton John.

ENTERTAINMENT: Deeply Dizzy Disco.

HONEYMOON: Salou, Spain.
