Shore reform to say goodbye to Lisa

ONE of the most popular bands on the local music scene are reforming in a special goodbye gig for the departing landlords of an Egremont pub.
Lisa and Ian Leighton leave The Central tomorrow (Friday) and have secured a rare appearance from Shore for their final gig.
“I've been after them since we opened,” says Lisa, “and I'm delighted to get them for our final gig.”
Lisa has been highly active in promoting live music in her 12 months in the Main Street pub, with bands taking to the stage every weekend.
“There’s some excellent musical talent here in Cumbria and my customers prefer live music rather than those just singing to backing tapes, and that’s what I’ve wanted and have promoted since arriving,” added Lisa.
The couple are leaving Egremont to return to Doncaster, where Lisa previously did marketing and PR for Doncaster Racecourse, also working in live entertainment with acts such as Madness, Status Quo and stars from The X-Factor in her time there.
She is taking a bulging contacts book back to Yorkshire however, and hopes to invite her favourite West Cumbrian acts to play there in the future.
“We’ve had some fantastic artists in here, with a lot of highlights including CodeJAK from Barrow and Jolan from Egremont – who I’m sure will both be signed very soon – Rhythm Dead Lady, Legion, Motion Theory, Broken English, and The Return, and I can’t wait to hear Shore.”
Shore burst onto the West Cumbrian music scene in the mid-2000s, earning a huge following before they went their separate ways.
The reformed band now features Jolan (vocals and guitar), Lee Shackley (keyboard), Robert Lambert (bass) and Steve Norman (drums).
Tomorrow’s free gig begins at 9.30pm.
