Punk legend Diggle to play intimate Civic gig

PUNK legend Steve Diggle it set to rock Whitehaven Civic Hall.

Diggle, who found fame with seventies icons Buzzcocks and wrote a number of their greatest hits, will treat fans to an intimate acoustic set in the Civic’s Scafell Lounge on Friday, February 1 (7pm).

Josh Shepherd, of gig organisers The Mighty Boof Promotions, said: “It’s great to add another acoustic night in the Civic, and this is probably the biggest name we’ve had to play the Scafell Lounge. We can’t wait for it.”

Tickets are £17.50 from the venue on 01946 514960 or Threads, King Street, on 01946 690008.

Meanwhile, The Boof has announced the dates for this year’s At The Playground festival.

The third annual event, at Whitehaven Rugby Union Club, will be held on May 17 and 18 – and bands who wish to play are asked to register their interest by emailing joshshepherd@mightyboofpromotions.com.
