CREATIVE children at Cleator Moor Nursery have made their own mementoes to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The youngsters, aged between three and four have spent the last two weeks learning about the monarchy, London and what the jubilee celebrations mean.
Val Bailey, headteacher said: “We have done lots of different activities with the children. They have been baking and decorating cakes. They have made their own crowns which they can take away with them and they have even made their own little medals and swords and shields.”
She added: “It’s important for them to have an understanding of what they are celebrating.”
A celebration event was held last Friday, where the children dressed up in colourful patriotic and Royal costumes.
