OUR annual West Lakeland pensioners’ party on Saturday, April 14, at the Calder Bridge Village Hall got off to a great start and continued through the afternoon; approximately 85 pensioners attended.
The event lasted all afternoon and included food, fellowship and entertainment.
The pensioners who attended were from Gosforth, Seascale, Thornhill and St Bees and surrounding areas. All transport is arranged by the Rotary Club and the food was prepared by some of the Rotary members’ wives, who do a fantastic job each and every year, preparing all the food and refreshments.
This event is one of the most important events on the Rotary Clubs’ calendar and has been enthusiastically carried out with great pleasure for the past 17 years.
Local entertainers gave their time to entertain with songs and music.
The pensioners also participate in the event to make it a very enjoyable time.
This event will continue to be part of the West Lakeland Rotary Clubs’ calendar and any pensioner that lives in the area is very welcome to come and enjoy the afternoon.
Congratulations to all the members and their wives who helped to make this event a success.
