Moresby WI

THE April meeting was a special occasion as we were celebrating our 64th birthday. We had invited members from a number of other WIs to join us.
Our entertainment for the evening was provided by Susan Allison. She welcomed us to join in singing songs from the musicals.
After all the singing, we were ready to sample the excellent buffet provided by Moresby members. There was a great atmosphere and it was an excellent opportunity for us to chat to friends. Mrs Graham presented Mrs Stamper with the silver plate, which is awarded annually for the most points gained in the monthly competitions.
The competition for a colourful fashion accessory attracted a large number of entries and the winner from visitors was Judy Hall and the Moresby winner was Pat Davies.
AT our March meeting, the speaker was Mr Douglas Cook, a familiar face at Moresby. The title of his talk was Venice (La Serenissima) – an illustrated presentation on the Venice most tourists do not see.
Some beautiful music, including Vivaldi’s Seasons, added atmosphere to the evening as we viewed the slides.
