Laughs and much more headed to Sands Centre

THERE will be laughs aplenty at Carlisle’s Sands Centre over the coming months as a host of top comedians take to the stage.

The hilarity begins tomorrow (Friday) with the return of fundraiser Live & Ungagged Again!

Headlining the show is international comic genius Tim Minchin, who will perform his unique brand of music and comedy, alongside Daniel Sloss and Imran Yusuf with Chris Ramsey as compère.

All of the show’s profits will go to Amnesty International.

Up next on September 30 is Reginald D Hunter who has become of the UK comedy industry’s best known and most distinctive performers.

A recognisable face from his frequent appearances on panel shows QI and Have I Got News For You, Hunter’s work is often brutally honest, frequently controversial, but always meticulously measured and thought out.

Jason Manford, who has extended his tour due to overwhelming public demand, will return to the Sands on October 21.

Sharp and engaging observational comedy is promised from the star of Show Me The Funny, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Comedy Rocks.

A Barrel of Fun will be delivered to Carlisle on October 23 with the return of Al Murray.

Britain’s best-known pub philosopher will be serving up his own special brew of bar-room logic.

The king of controversial comedy, Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown brings his ‘not for the easily offended’ brand of banter to the Sands on November 12.

The veteran comic, complete with trademark patchwork suit, flying hat and goggles, is set to amuse, astonish and shock in equal measures.

And finally, the ‘chav king’ Lee Nelson, with best friend Omlette in tow, is in town on November 19.

Lee’s show follows on from the success of his critically acclaimed sell-out debut tour.

Tickets for all of the above are available by telephoning 01228 625222 or online at www.thesandscentre.co.uk.
