It’s the best show ever!

HENSINGHAM Centre’s 2012 production has been hailed as the “best show yet”.

Users and staff from the centre performed Carry On Calamity to a packed-out Whitehaven Civic Hall last week – the culmination of eight months of hard work.

“We have been putting on the Christmas shows for over 10 years, and I have to say that they get better and better every year,” said the centre’s Lynne Murphy.

Around 300 people, including the mayor of Copeland, enjoyed Friday’s show that was directed by Andrew Birkett.

Lynne added: “It was lovely to have everyone involved, and there were only a few minor hiccups so the show was a fantastic success.”

Everyone connected to the centre – including staff, users and their families – contributed to the show, with assistance from a number of community groups. Special mention was also given to Suzanne Brown for her “amazing” contribution to the show.

A scaled-down version of the play is set to be performed to Hensingham School on Friday.
