Grease is the word for fundraisers

PINK bubbly flowed and pink cakes were enjoyed – all to the classic soundtrack of Grease – at a hugely successful charity night in Whitehaven.

The Think Pink fundraising group raised a staggering £6,700 for the West Cumberland Hospital’s breast care unit from its annual event at Rosehill Theatre last week.

Over 200 ladies – all dressed in pink of course – went along to enjoy the pink treats followed by a dance and sing-along to the classic movie Grease. Host for the evening was TV star Kim Inglis.

It was the fourth annual event organised by the ladies, each one being more successful than the last, and they have raised a remarkable £23,000 in that time.

The friends formed the group after one of them was diagnosed with breast cancer aged 34. All of the team members have been touched by the disease and they wanted to raise awareness and funds. For more about the group visit www.facebook.com/groups/thinkpinkg/
