Creative new exhibit is under way

THE annual open art exhibition is under way at Lowes Court Gallery, Egremont.
It’s a chance for new as well as experienced local artists to show off their work in the Main Street gallery.
There are paintings, photos, sculptures, woodwork and a host of other art on display, including calligraphy and works in charcoal, for the rest of October – most of them for sale.
At the launch of the exhibition last Friday evening, the gallery’s new chairman, Keith McMean, pictured above, said: “It’s an honour to be back here as my artistic career started at Lowes Court.
“One thing we want to do at the gallery is get people involved. Don’t forget the gallery is here and keep supporting it!”
The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 4pm. It is closed on Sundays. It runs until October 30.
