You must have a double
"You must have a double" someone said to me the other day. "Cheers" I replied. "I'll have a double scotch".
Dr Drew Pinsky - or is it Alan Cleaver? Picture by Randy Stewart CC.
And now I've got that old joke out of the way (copyright Morecambe and Wise 1932), I'll tell you my double is none other than Drew Pinsky. I can tell you're impressed. But in case you've never heard of him, he is apparently a celebrity TV doctor in America. I suppose there is a certain similarity - except of course he's fatter than me and got more grey hair. The remark was made under my article "The Computer is dead, Long Live the Book" on the book-lovers website Vulpes Libris. It's another thinly-veiled attempt by me to kill off the computer and internet in favour of 'real' books.
