Tribute to our heroes
ONE of the surprise hits for me at the Festival was All Angels.
The four girls singing a range of music from classical to pop, wowed the audience on Sunday morning in the arena beside the harbour. But they received their biggest cheer when they thanked all the police for their diligent service during the tough times - and singled out beat bobby Mick Taylor for particular praise. It strikes me that there's still some unfinished business with the tragedies we have been through: thanking some of the people who helped during those difficult times. And top of that list would be the likes of Mick Taylor.
I was amused to hear the festival commentator say just before 5.30pm that "hopefully the Red Arrows will be along in a few minutes". Er, no. This is the Red Arrows who time their routines to the split second as they whizz around at 200mph. Sure enough they arrived - according to my watch - at precisely 5.30pm.
