Trials and tribulations
Sex and politics - just another day in the office for deputy editor Alan Cleaver
I've been trying to email our local record office details of a story from our archives about a man who, on his death, turned out to be a woman (I've got your interest now haven't I so take a look at the story here). Unfortunately, the email won't go through unless I change any reference to sex to something 'safer' such as s*x. I do understand the need to cut out spam but for an office which must start most forms with a request for your sex - male or female - it seems rather Draconian!
I was tagging some pictures with keywords ahead of the election in order to make them easy to find. It's a rather sad indictment of our age that when I pick up a picture of the House of Commons the first keyword to spring to my mind is - corruption!
