Ready, teddy, go...
Gallery 50a in Egremont has seen some wonderful exhibitions over the past few months.
The last one, Pyxis Ludibrium, featured thousands of cuddly toys. Artist Karen Storr was worried some might be stolen as the gallery had to left unattended for a short while. In fact, the opposite happened: the number of cuddly toys increased! It seems people were happy to donate their own cuddly toys to the collection (that or they were breeding!). The next exhibition - Developing Talent - features the work of young and old photographers who have just started in the subject. Despite their lack of experience, there are some remarkable works on show. The gallery is at 50a Main Street, Egremont - a former fast food takeaway that the owner has kindly allowed community artists to use. Developing Talent opens next Thursday (September 16) and runs until October 18. Opening times Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11am to 5pm.
