A good job well done

HOW heartening to hear that Copeland Council is getting to grips with the disgusting state of Clintz Quarry.
Those who fly-tip should watch out as surveillance cameras will catch the rubbish-dumping culprits red-handed.
We all seem to hate the practice with a vengeance, so just who is doing it? clear-up of the area should really be the owner’s responsibility but no-one knows who they are. So, rather than spend taxpayers’ money on clearing away the mess, the good offices of the local probation trust have been brought in and young offenders put to good use under the ‘community payback’ scheme. At least one of the lads thought the task ‘worthwhile’ and felt a sense of satisfaction in a job well done. Hear, hear.
