BRISTOL-BASED: The Chemists are coming to Whitehaven

It is the day before their debut single Something for the Weekend is released – already a favourite on NME radio and Kerrang's station.

The Bristol band is made up of Johnny Benn (vocals), Sam James (lead guitar), Wayne Jones (bass), Dave Betts (rhythm guitar) and Matt Albon (drums).

The single is taken from their debut album which will be released early next year.

The band have already supported The Bluetones, The Crimea and The Delays on tour this year.

They cite their musical influences as Queens of the Stone Age, The Pixies, The Police and Doves, amongst others.

They will be shortly be performing dates in Germany and the US.

Having just completed the Club Fandango tour with Broken Records, they will be performing at Bestival in September.

Support on the night comes from The Daisy Riots and Whitehaven's own The Return and GO.

Tickets are £6 and Doors open at 7pm.
