Kells in cup win

TWO goals from Ryan Turnbull gave Kells the victory in the first cup final of the Sunday League season.

Turnbull’s double secured Kells’ 2-0 win against Top House in the final of the Division Two Cup.

Some hesitancy in the Top House defence gave Turnbull the chance to capitalise and give Kells the lead from 12 yards.

It was an entertaining game, in which both sides played neat and attractive football without creating a great number of chances.

And despite having the lion’s share of possession, Top House succumbed to a late second from Turnbull to clinch the trophy for Kells.

Cleator Moor moved into the President’s Cup final with a comfortable win over Gosforth Red Admiral, and now meet Thornhill at home in Sunday’s final.
