Revealing who’s the fairest of them all

More beauty news from Julie Morgan

WE have come a long way from the days when skin-care comprised a quick rub with a hot flannel and soap.

Is there any woman left who doesn’t know the important of cleansing, moisturising and sun-protection?

High-tech and affordable cosmetics mean we no longer need to tolerate a face like the Evil Queen from Snow White.

However, for those who want to take their skin-care a step further, the West Lakeland Medical Group is offering non-surgical procedures such as wrinkle-relaxing injections, microdermabrasion, Restylane Dermal Fillers and Vistabel/Botox.

The group – which consists of medically-qualified team, Dr Phil Crosby, and aesthetic nurse specialists Christine McCutcheon and Bev Crosby – now works from Whitehaven’s Senhouse Centre.

Bev, who is also a midwife and offers pilates classes for mums-to-be at the Centre, said: “While Botox is obviously popular with women, more men are using it to keep themselves looking young and to treat excessive armpit perspiration as it blocks the action of the nerves that supply the sweat glands.’’

The Group also carries out minor surgery with the removal of cysts, moles, skin tags and is hoping this year to treat thread veins, skin pigmentation, rosacea and hair removal.

They will also be providing treatments with laser and intense pulse light technology.

For more information contact the Group, who also work at the Anne Burrow Thomas Health Centre at Workington, on 0793 6445639.
