Fields of art work

LANDSCAPE work by Cumbrian-based artists will be on display at Lowes Court Gallery, from May 17.

Fresh Fields runs at the Egremont gallery until June 24.

It includes artwork from established gallery artist Nanette Madan, with her highly individual and often amusing compositions, alongside photographs by Gareth Browning and paintings by Sarah Taylor, both of whom are new to the gallery.

Gareth works for the Forestry Commission, so trees often feature large in his work. Sarah is a young artist based in St Bees, who is developing an expressive free flowing style.

Their love of the outdoors and bold use of colour are brought together here for the first time.

Alongside the artwork there will be a selection of colourful cushions from Textile Revival, made from recycled materials, and decorated textile bags by Clare Tyler.
