THE meeting held in the Methodist hall, with Judy Hall in the chair.
The Waberthwaite party had been very enjoyable and they had been entertained by Millom School orchestra and fed magnificently. Pauline Jago gave a detailed report on the annual Spring Council meeting which she had attended with two other members. Denman College had had a refit and sounded very inviting. Eileen Wilson was retiring as chairwoman of Cumbria. She will be missed as she took a great interest in all the Institutes in her area. We would like to support the ACWW project to help women in rural parts of Uganda; the Porkers and Chicks scheme.
The “Try your skill” sheets were given out.
The tea hostesses, Maureen Eccles and Muriel Temple were thanked. Jo Walker continued her life as a Postulant, ending with “The Vicar’s wife.” How she maintained Greater Silence is difficult to imagine. We certainly did not manage it during her hilarious talk. We still have another chapter to look forward to.
“Best Ankles” winner was Muriel Temple.
