‘High by a tarn stood a lonely goatherd...’

PEOPLE travelling to Talkin Tarn are now passing over an upgraded level crossing. This features four rising barriers and a new warning sound system.
A new warning sound system? What on earth could this be? Perhaps a siren, or a bell?
A Network Rail spokesman said: “There will be new warning lights and a yodel to warn people when it is not safe to cross.”
So now we know. But will the yodeller be allowed to bring their goats to work with them?
