A GRADUATE from the University of Cumbria has been awarded a prestigious US marketing scholarship and the chance to travel to the States to enhance her skills.
The opportunity has provided Heather Massey, 27, from Carlisle, with a chance to develop her business expertise.
She said: “It’s given me an invaluable insight into the US business and marketing culture and enabled me to meet and share experiences with fellow marketing executives.”
The scholarship is organised by North America unit of Trade & Investment and the British Consulate General in Chicago.
The scholarship involved a week long trip to the Kellogg School, Chicago, in April.
Heather is only one of six people accepted into the scholarship this year. She will spend a second week as an executive attachment with a US company.
Since last year she has been working at Primasonics International Limited, a company based in Penrith. Heather’s project with the firm has helped them break into new international markets.
