Best wishes on your retirement Mr Tumelty, thanks for all you have given to the pupils of St Bernards.

Eugene and I arrived as new Heads of English in the area about the same time and we often met at meetings and training. He was always a gentleman dedicated to his vocation. Good luck, Eugene.

Eugene taught me my wife and our 2 boys. A great teacher, a great man and a fantastic school.
All the very best for a long and relaxing retirement.

Whoever replaces Mr Tumelty has huge shoes to fill. St. Bernard's couldn't have asked for a better head teacher, he will be a massive loss to the school.

Good luck with your retirement Eugene.

all 3 of my sons went through St Bernards from back in 90's onwards and they mostly enjoyed their time there.Mr Tumelty i know will be a huge loss to the school as he was always there to help EVERY pupil and always had time for us as parents.
i would love to wish him well in his retirement.

My children both attend St Bernards school and I have been very pleased with their progress. They have both been supported and taught well. Mr Tumelty should be proud of the schools achievements during his lead. I wish him all the best for the future and hope he has a very happy retirement.

So sorry to see Mr Tumelty go.My daughter leaves this summer and has barely missed a day because she loves going to the school - when she is ill I have to force her to stay at home. St Bernard's gets a really wide range of children coming into it but I feel it does its best for every single one of them.My daughter was bullied in Year 7 but it was dealt with successfully straight away.I would always recommend it to parents who are looking for a school offering excellent pastoral care. I wish Mr T all the best on his retirement.

Neil, what on earth does your comment have to do with this article?!?! I am sure Mr Tumelty will be over the moon to know that you have chosen the article regarding his retirement to air your inappropriate views.

And the front runners to replace him are?

I confidently predict, after consulting my genuine gypsy crystal ball, that both of the Academy vice-principals will be in the running.
