WHITEHAVEN’S rugby league stars will on hand to kick off a new sports-themed exhibit on Saturday.
Haven fans are invited to The Beacon museum between noon and 3pm to meet players and coaches at the launch of the Fun & Games exhibit, which celebrates traditional West Cumbrian sports.
Rugby league is included alongside hound trailing, boxing, Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling, fell running and other local sports.
Items on display include a Bradford Bulls shirt worn by Whitehaven-born player James Donaldson, and an unawarded Lonsdale Belt on loan from the British Board of Boxing Control.
The exhibit runs until September 2 and is open Tuesdays to Sundays and school and bank holiday Mondays, 10am to 4.30pm. Entry is free.
