Makisi continues to make his mark for Carcassonne

EX-WHITEHAVEN ace Saia Makisi continues to make his mark in France, scoring a decisive last-minute try for Carcassonne as they came from behind to take Limoux’s unbeaten record in Elite 1.
Makisi made the difference, his try levelling matters at 32-all, Fred Banquet’s conversion ensuring Carcassonne, who lie third in the table, grabbed all three points.
Makisi impressed many during his spell at Haven, scoring eight tries in 26 appearances, but he was released over import quota concerns.
The French competition ends in the spring, and if quota restrictions are relaxed, there may be a route back to the Recre for the Tongan international.
