Girl crushed under quad bike

A GIRL was flown to hospital after being crushed under a quad bike.
The child, understood to be aged four, got trapped yesterday. Emergency crews were called, but the girl had been released by the time they arrived.
The incident happened at Kiskin Farm, Bootle, near Millom, at around 5pm.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service, Bootle fire crew and the police attended the scene.
A spokesman for the Pride of Cumbria helicopter team said: “We attended an incident involving a child crushed under a 4x4 quad vehicle.
The aircrew doctor and paramedic team assessed and treated the child for injuries to the leg and arm.”
The girl and her mother were airlifted from the scene to the West Cumberland Hospital, in Whitehaven.
The spokesman said the child had non life-threatening injuries and that her condition on arrival at hospital was stable.
