WE now have a full set of names for the Millom firemen which featured in Love Memories on Saturday August 7 thanks to former Station Officer Eric Robinson.
On the front row, from left, is Colin Jackson, Donald Boase, Bill Myers, Steve Kelly and Vic Howard.
On the middle row, from left, is Joe Steele, Wilf Ashburner, Colin Mason, Bill Dawson, Jess Moyle, Eric Robinson and Albert Satterthwaite.
On the back row, from left, is Percy Moore, Norman Vernon and John Moyle.
When this picture was taken, probably at a presentation in 1965, the brigade had two Comer fire engines.
The one on the right replaced an Austin towed trailer pump.
At this time Bill Myers was the Millom station officer.
Others on the picture to later take on this role were Donald Boase, Colin Mason, Colin Jackson and Norman Vernon.
Eric Robinson was the 10th Millom station officer since the service was started around 1874.
