Carlisle United are heading back to Morecambe’s Globe Arena after adding another friendly to their pre-season calendar.
The Blues will travel to Lancashire for a midweek clash as one of their final games before the 2012/13 campaign gets under way. The League Two club will host Greg Abbott’s side on Wednesday, August 8, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
“We have a great relationship with Morecambe and this will be a good game for both sides,” said Abbott.
United already have scheduled friendlies with Kendal, Workington, Barrow, Durham City, St Mirren and Middlesbrough and have not ruled out adding one more game to the list.
Competitive action gets under way with the Capital One Cup tie at home to Accrington on Tuesday, August 14, four days before the League One campaign begins.
n Rotherham boss Steve Evans has confirmed that he has held talks with United winger JP McGovern but insists he is also looking at other targets.
The Blues have given the Scot permission to speak to other clubs as the 31-year-old looks set to leave Brunton Park after just one season.
United have declined to comment on McGovern's likely departure, only saying that he still has a year left on his contract with the Blues.
Clubs in Scotland are also monitoring the Glaswegian.
