Carlisle prostitutes sex site sparks political storm
Last updated at 22:32, Sunday, 11 October 2009
A website which allows men to rate Cumbrian prostitutes is at the centre of a political row about whether the internet is fuelling demand for the sex trade.
Have your say
Must be a classy lady for 2 alcopops.
Chilli or garlic sauce?

To be honest, I didn't think you had to pay for sex in Botchergate.
Two alcopops and half a kebab usually does the job....

The 'it's legal here' comment is in the context of Melbourne, Australia. Brothels are licenced and legal. They advertise openly and pay taxes. The girls and boys who work in them are subject to age and health checks.
It is just another part of the entertainment sector. The estimate is that there are 50,000 visits a week across the state but oddly enough I've never met anyone who admits to going there.Apparently the cliente is not dirty old perverts, it's married men on their way home at 6.00pm.

Enlighten us then Jeff and then explain why the courts hand out sentences to prostitutes every week.

It's legal here. What's the problem?

Having lived in Holland years ago I think that legalising prostitution would be a good idea to clean the streets up and make the system safer. Then all the insecure men who are incapable of forming a normal relationship can nip along and satisfy their sordid needs without the need to creep around the streets on a night light a dirty old pervert. Problem solved and some more revenue for the government to waste on a needless war.

When you break it down, there isn't much difference between the sex trade and any other.
When the Plumber comes round, he (or she) charges you for thier time and the use of thier skills. Same as these girls listed on the site (which incidentaly isn't that easy to find, you certainly wouldn't 'stumble' upon it unless you were looking for that kind of thing.)The only difference really, is those who would rather impose thier own will and beliefs upon others. As has been said earlier, if you don't want it, don't look!Everyone keeps saying how these girls are exploited by 'pimps', how do you all know this ?? people are exploited in many proffesions, what about cockle pickers and the 'gangmasters', they are nothing more tham 'pimps' by another name, exploiting the vulbnerable to provide a service. It's also common practice in hairdressers to rent 'chairs' for overinflated prices - although not on the same scale, it's still exploitation of someone elses skill. The problem with the oldest trade in the world is it is an underground proffession in the UK, perhaps with legislation, regulation then the, dare I say skilled ladies will be able to practise their art in safe surroundings, and by safe I mean safe from exploitation, infection, attack, any anything else that can happen when primeval instincts are active.People forget that the internet is a global community, and therefore the laws governing it are based on the lowest denominator - I bet there isn't one commentator on here who hasn't recieved an email at some time selling pills or devices to enhance this that or the other......People talk about freedom of expression, the free market, democracy - but as far as this goes it more like hypocrisy, the forcing of puritan beliefs on others.

I cant see what all the fuss is about if you dont want to have sex with these women dont go to the site simple.
This is 2009 and its about time things changed.Making it legal i only part of the answer as we know here in Holland but it does go a long way to help. The clubs are vetted very strickly regular inspections and spot checks as soon as anything illegal is found the club is closed down.Pimps will always try to take advantage of any girl but with the law watching it is hard to do.Working via a website often means the girl doesnt have a pimp.I believe Brenda that you are very hurt by what you saw on your daughter in laws web page i agree she should not be showing pictures of her child.Im amazed that the site allowed the picture to be shown. But lets get real she isnt doing it for fun, most girls have debts or other problems. When your son was married to her im sure he enjoyed her love of sex?where does he go now?Botchergate 25 pounds of allcopops, kebab n taxie costs more than a half hour with one of those ladies and they always use a condom. After alls said n done it is the oldest profession in the world. There are those that say some do it for money others do it for a new fitted kitchen or sofa, you decide.Greetings from open minded Holland,by the way chris is short for christine yes a woman wrote this. xxx

My daughter in law a prostitute/escort on a web site and same things the men can give votes etc, pictures posted by prostitutes often pornographic, in our case a milder photo has her 2 yr old daughter on the photo! Police and social services know all about this site and have done for a long while! When our son found out about the prostitution he went for custody of the children and divorce, he is still fighting for access custody! social services told me, its 2008!!!! as if prostitution on line ok only if they get men on the streets for money is it illegal and frowned upon. In our case she was not vulnerable at all just loves the money and sex!!!! I would love these sites shut down also swinging sites
