Assault outside Cumbrian club - man due in court

A man was appearing in court today charged with causing grievous bodily harm following a late night assault outside a west Cumbrian club.
The alleged victim is seriously ill in hospital after sustaining head injuries.
Thirty-year-old Kevin David Griffin, of Central Avenue, Egremont, was appearing at West Cumbria Magistrates’ Court this morning.
The alleged incident happened outside Egremont’s Falcon club at 11.30pm on Saturday. A 28-year-old man, believed to be from the town, suffered a serious head injury and was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital.
His condition was last described as serious but stable.
Another man, a 27-year-old also from Egremont, was arrested on suspicion of a related public order offence. He is on police bail.
